Our Story
Our Battery Technology Solutions (BTS) division, located in Nova Scotia, Canada, drives innovation across the battery ecosystem. This includes our Precision Coulometry (UHPC) battery testing systems, and advanced R&D services specializing in cell design, prototyping, materials characterization, and performance testing. These capabilities support customer qualification and IP-driven growth across defense, grid stability, and high-performance applications.
Avrion Labs was founded in 2013 in Nova Scotia, Canada by Dr. Chris Burns. His graduate work with Dr. Jeff Dahn at Dalhousie University led to the development of more efficient ways to determine the lifespans of lithium-ion batteries. This ultimately led to the development of UHPC Systems, which Avrion Labs continues to supply to the battery supply chain today.
